Proposed 4-book epic fantasy series

Danen never wanted to be High Mage. But while his uncle, the King of Celandra, hatches a secret plot, Danen seizes the opportunity to take hold of an ancient power and orchestrate the downfall of the entire Kingdom. At least, that’s what he intends. But things don’t go as planned when the last person he expects steps between Danen and his self-destructive vengeance. Meanwhile, on a battlefield between three races underestimated heroes combine forces to bring old racial grudges to an end as Celandra is reforged and a new era begins.
“She lifted her veil. The gauze revealed an ancient and gentle face, with soft jowls, a bulbous hooked nose, and white, sightless eyes. Reaching out her hand to me, palm upwards, without turning her head, she laughed at the sound of my startled gasp.
“Yes, I am blind… poor child, you are cold!” she tutted. “We have a saying, ‘The heart of the mountain is ice, and the sun will never wed him, though she kisses him every day.’ Humorous, is it not? And sad. This is what we tell our young ones, to teach them that not everyone is what he seems.”
Sitting with my hand in Fulteeza’s palm, I wonder why she wants to look into my future.”

When the restless Osakk dead rend the curtain separating the realms of shades and the living, two children from enemy clans must unite to seek out the only mage capable of repelling powers beyond the natural.

After a casting gone wrong, the High Mage keeps secret the truth about his wife’s death. His daughter senses there’s more to the story, but has no way of ferreting out her father’s closely-kept secrets. In a quest to learn about his dark past, she runs away in search of someone who will tell her everything she longs to learn. Stumbling upon a forgotten prince held captive by rare bird of prey, the half-elf and human boy concoct a plot to solve both their problems with a little magic and a heap of cunning.

The prequel to the series, this origin story follows the early life of The Seeress Fulteeza, an Osakk priestess who is granted divine power to rescue her people in their darkest hour.
